Planning a trip to Tulum end of June with my girlfriend to celebrate a huge career milestone/finally becoming a doctor. If you've come to Tulum and enjoyed the incredible beaches it has to offer, surely you've seen or heard about the seaweed. I hoped it would be a laidback, happy and friendly place and to be honest it is not. I'm thinking of visiting Tulum in September but I'm worried about the weather and the seaweed situation. It should not be hard to find it and for cheap down there (I don't know about the quality). The resort we stayed at had staff raking it up, as well as a machine that worked on getting it off of the beach. we just heard from a friend who went last month that the beaches are covered in seaweed and practically unusable. I kept coming back to Tulum over the years for the insanely beautiful beaches, the peaceful and positive energy, the intimate/bespoke nature of the hotels and how nothing feels like a big chain/corporation.
